Dr. Anita Mahey stands among the most distinguished experts in Gynaecology and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in North India. With over 14 years of focused experience, she has pioneered Minimally Invasive Gynaecological techniques that offer faster recovery, less pain, and minimal scarring. Her medical journey began at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Chandigarh, followed by a post-graduation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the prestigious PGIMER, Chandigarh. She also completed a Senior Residency at GMCH-32 and a Fellowship in Advanced Gynae Laparoscopy, making her one of the most well-trained specialists in the region.

An academician and surgical mentor, Dr. Mahey is a regular faculty member at national and international gynaecological conferences and live surgery workshops. Her practice is built on precision, innovation, and compassion — offering a wide array of minimally invasive treatments such as Laparoscopic Transabdominal Cerclage, isthmocele repair, scar ectopic pregnancy management, Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy, Myomectomy, Endometriosis treatment, Hysteroscopy, Infertility care, and pelvic floor reconstruction with sling/mesh surgeries.

She specializes in performing complex surgeries through laparoscopy and hysteroscopy that traditionally required open procedures. These include high-risk cases with fibroids, endometriosis, recurrent miscarriages, and congenital anomalies — all managed with the least invasive techniques for the best outcomes.

Recently, Dr. Mahey gained recognition for a landmark achievement: removing a record-breaking 2.5 kg fibroid uterus using only keyhole surgery — an extraordinary testament to her skill and commitment to advanced, patient-friendly care.

2003

At just 17, the journey in medicine began with admission to the MBBS program at Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH-32), Chandigarh. These formative years laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to women’s health and surgical excellence.

2010

Secured admission to the prestigious PGIMER, Chandigarh for MD in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. This phase deepened both clinical understanding and academic rigor, refining a vision for minimally invasive gynaecology and evidence-based practice.

2013

Joined GMCH-32 as a Senior Resident in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The three years of intensive clinical exposure further strengthened diagnostic and surgical skills, and built a solid grounding in handling complex gynaecological cases with confidence.

2016

After completing a Senior Residency at GMCH, pursued a fellowship in Advanced Gynae Endoscopy in Delhi. This marked the transition from academic medicine to specialised, hands-on training, and set the stage for independent practice. Since then, have been exclusively practicing gynaecological endoscopy across the Tricity area, with a growing patient base and a focus on precision, empathy, and innovation.

Today, with over two decades of education, training, and clinical experience, the focus lies on delivering advanced gynaecological care that blends technology with trust.
